He has worked with ultra-high-vacuum systems to synthesise a range of III–V semiconductor materials for advanced microelectronics, quantum applications and heterogeneous integration.

With an MEng in microelectronics, Nick also brings insight into the control electronics which form an integral part of Elethron's portfolio. His background allows him to assess a materials process as a complete system, encompassing the reactor, process conditions, controls, instrumentation and operating environment.

He is passionate about producing the next-generation, cutting-edge semiconductor and photonic crystal materials leveraging the benefits of space to innovate solutions to both today's problems and tomorrow's challenges. At Elethron, he translates this ambition into practice by working across the company's scientific and engineering teams to lead the development of processing systems that harness microgravity to enable material structures, properties and levels of quality that remain unachievable through conventional growth and fabrication methods on Earth.
